Dr. Yan, a native of Hong Kong, relocated to Boston in 2008, received his Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology from Boston University, MA. Howard earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy at MGH Institute of Health Professions, Boston, MA. Howard continued his education in advanced Orthopedic Manual Therapy, “COMT”. The Certification in Orthopedic Manual Therapy significantly enhances manual therapy skills for soft tissue work, joint mobilization and joint manipulation, along with evidenced-based critical decisions reducing patient symptoms and impairments. Howard continues to pursue education in advanced treatment of vestibular, balance, dizziness and post-concussion disorders.
Howard’s greatest passion lies in learning, the guiding principle is evidence based, physical therapists can have a profound effect on people’s lives and physical therapy is a team effort, helping people achieve fitness goals, regain or maintain their independence, and lead active lives, providing tools and knowledge to achieve client goals in the most efficient, effective way possible!
As an enthusiastic therapist Howard believes in everyone’s ability to become stronger, improve pain and achieve movement goals with the correct program and coaching.
In his spare time, Howard enjoys board games, yoga, and experimenting in the kitchen.
