Physical Therapy Specialists:
Many of our patients begin their rehabilitation program with aquatic therapy and then “graduate” to traditional (land) therapy when their bodies are strong enough for more strenuous exercises. (Learn more about the benefits of Aquatic Therapy here.) However, for some we prescribe a land-only physical therapy program containing a combination of the following elements:
- Therapeutic Exercises
- Advanced Manual Therapy
- Kinesio Taping
- Cold Laser Therapy
Therapeutic Exercises increase range of motion:
- Total Gym Gravity Reformer
- Free weights and pulley systems
- Cardiovascular conditioning equipment
- A variety of strengthening, stretching, and balance training equipment
- Body Mechanics Training
- Lumbar and core stabilization training
- Balance and fall prevention training
- Special foot stretching techniques with exclusive use of the Thera-Toe ™
Advanced Manual Therapy relieves pressure and pain:
- Soft tissue mobilization
- Joint mobilization
- Myofascial Release
- Scar mobilization and desensitization techniques
Kinesio Taping improves healing and reduces swelling:
We find that Kinesio Taping is a valuable tool in the healing and the management of painful injuries. We are proud to be among the few Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioners in Orange County. Kinesio Taping has been widely used since 1970 and often seen on Olympic athletes because of its many benefits like flexibility, latex-free, water resistant, muscle and joint support.
- Reduces swelling
- Reduces scar tissue
- Reduces muscle activity
- Reduces pain
- Improves muscle contraction
- Improves healing
- Improves nerve receptors
- Improves posture
Cold Laser Therapies are also available to target areas of pain caused by tendon and ligament injuries, soft tissue injuries, muscle strain and musculoskeletal disorders. Our specialists are aware that pain can limit your recovery and can set your healing back. We take your pain seriously, so please let us know if you are experiencing any unnecessary pain. We also help manage pain and recover through ultrasounds, electrical stimulation, traction, TENS, iontophoresis and phonophoresis.
