Julie a native of North Andover, MA, received her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA. After relocating to California, Julie went on to receive her degree in Physical Therapy from Mount Saint Mary’s University, Los Angeles, CA. Julie continued her education and received the Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Chapman University, Orange, CA.
Julie founded Southern California Aquatic and Physical Therapy in 1995. Julie achieved the Orthopedic Clinical Specialist Board Certification in 2008 with recertification in 2017. In addition to her passion for orthopedics, she was driven to find solutions to help those suffering from chronic pain and opioid usage. In 2017, Julie completed the Therapeutic Pain Specialist Certification, the first certification of its’ kind in the country focusing on the latest pain research and treatment options. She has been a speaker for a National Conference for the Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Association and other organizations. Julie has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 1989 with a focus on orthopedic, aquatic and private practice.

Karen graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, School of Medicine in 1997 with a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy. At Wash U, Karen trained under legendary physical therapist and movement specialist, Dr. Shirley Sahrmann. A native Californian, she returned to begin her career at Hoag Hospital. Karen has worked in orthopedics for over 20 years serving our community.
As a competitive swimmer for 14 years and a 2 sport college athlete, Karen understands the rigors of high level athletics on the body. Karen enjoys working most with people who face daily mobility challenges either from chronic pain, faulty movement patterns, overuse syndromes, or degenerative changes.
When she is not working, Karen enjoys spending time with her family. She is a sport’s mom as her husband is a high school football coach and two of three her kids are college athletes. She loves hiking, pilates, reading, and being outdoors where she is usually on some sort of athletic field rooting for someone in her family!
Alex was born and raised in Southern California. He received his Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2013. He then returned home to get his Doctor of Physical Therapy at University of Southern California in 2021. Alex has a strong passion for movement and exercise which he applies to his practice. While not in the clinic, Alex enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and watching sports.
Tim is a 2007 graduate of Cal State Fullerton with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology. In 2009, he completed his Physical Therapy Assistant program at Cerritos College. Tim has been practicing as a licensed PTA since 2009. Working as an outpatient PTA, Tim has treated many orthopedic and neurologic conditions. Being in athletics since he was a child, he has experienced some physical setbacks himself and has seen many injured athletes as well. Getting through those setbacks set the path for him to pursue a career in physical therapy. Helping people get back to their daily activities recreational or otherwise after an injury is a primary reason Tim loves the field of physical therapy.
In his spare time, Tim loves being with his wife and daughter. He is heavily involved in Fountain Valley Little League, both as a coach and on the executive board. He loves sports, music, is an avid Denver Broncos, MLB and NBA fan. He is also a huge fan of the OC SKA music scene. Tim and his family have a huge passion for fundraising for pediatric cancer research and CHOC hospital, in memory of their son Carter who is forever 6 after battling cancer for 2 years.

Camia has a degree in Clinical and Administrative Medical Assisting. She has worked close to a decade in healthcare with an expertise in insurances and customer service. Camia is always ready to assist patients with a genuine commitment to making a positive impact in their lives as well as the clinic operations and support of all of the staff.
